Durham - Head Coach Marvin "Rat" Reed and the Bull City Legacy played host to Triangle Run N' Gun at Walltown Recreational Center in Durham. Reed was coaching his first game as the head man for the Legacy; his team gave him a great welcoming gift.
Triangle Run N' Gun came out on fire, led by guards Milan Prodanovic, (Iona College) and Ian Hathaway. The duo's early play gave the Run N' Gun a 23-22 lead after one quarter. Prodanovic finished the game with 25 points and 9 assists, while Hathaway chipped in with 23 points. The Legacy would own the second quarter, but it was another "Ian" who provided the spark.
Bull City out scored the Run N' Gun 47-20 in the second quarter to turn a 1-point deficit, into a 26-point halftime lead. Legacy forward Ian Gregory (St. Thomas Univ.) made 14 of his 17 field goal attempts, including 5-7 from 3-point range, to finish with a game- high 35 points, in a 143-115 Bull City Victory.
Legacy guard Tim Plummer (Fayetteville State) also had a great game, finishing 3 assists shy of a triple-double. Plummer scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dishes out 7 assists. Jamario Clayton (LIU Post/ Univ. Hawaii Hilo) poured in 25 points for Bull City who improve to (4-2) on the season. Next up for the Legacy is a home game vs. Huntersville HoopForLyfe, Feb. 28th. Triangle Run N' Gun falls to (1-7). They'll hit the road Feb. 21st against the Robenson County Showstoppers.
