April 11, 2015 Durham -- The Bull City Legacy played host to the Robeson County Showstoppers at Walltown Recreational Center. The TRBL playoffs are fastly approaching, and these two teams showed playoff intensity throughout.
Robeson County found themselves trailing 26-35 after the first quarter, but a pair of UNC-Pembroke products would bring the Showstoppers back to within three points (59-62) by halftime. Ricardo Samuel and Shamell Brackett put Robenson County on their backs the entire game. Samuel finished with a game-high 29 points -- while Brackett wasn't far behind, scoring 27 points -- but Bull City proved to be to much on this day.
The Bull City Legacy placed 8 players in double figures, led by Jamario Clayton's (Univ Hawaii Hilo) 27 points and 6 assists. Jerome Carr (Laurinburg Institute) chipped in with 21 points 4 rebounds 4assits, while Ian Gregory (St. Thomas Univ.) scored 17 points and dished out 6assists. The star of the game was reserve guard Antonio Battle. Battle came off the bench to score a season-high 16 points, on 8/8 field goal attempts, helping Bull City to blow out Robeson County, 161-123.
With the win, Bull City end their regular season at (7-4). The loss drops Robeson County to (4-10). The TRBL playoffs get started May 2nd.
